June 2, 2011I`m looking for a 99-06 Z71. Or should I go with 88-98 style? Would be lifting it for mild off road use. Price plays a role also. Any comments and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

June 3, 2011I love my 98, all ways have all ways will. If i was buying in todays market I would be look at a 96-98 model year. Still find plenty in good shape, decent fuel economy with some up-grades, and will be cheaper to insure.

June 3, 2011Always been a fan of the 96-98 trucks. That`s the years of the Vortec 350 motors. Best truck engine GM ever made. I`d avoid the trucks just after those years. I think it`s `99-`03 that had problems with piston knock.
