December 24, 2006Don't go with APC whatever you do, they are the biggest pieces of crap made. I had 2 pairs and both screwed up and the chrome backing peeled off. I switched to TYC and have been happy ever since. IPCW is also another good brand for the parklights, I have APC parklights and they have been ok so far but I would suggest TYC parklights also. For the corners look for some IPCW or TYC ones on ebay.
Here is a pic of my TYC Diamond Clear Headlights, APC Euro Clear Parklights, and IPCW Diamond Clear Corners.
December 27, 2006If there all plastic how much heat can they withstand? I want to put 4 headlights on mine instead of the bumber light. In the bottom pair of headlights I want just high beams, 2 in each (60 watters) is this to much heat?
December 28, 2006Might be too much heat... Also, Your better off Holding the Bulb out the window while driving... The Bumper Lights wont produce any type of focused light beam...
Might Try buy 2 sets of Headlamps and modifying them to fit... I could see that looking cool and giving you a crap load of light!
December 28, 2006I think that would be illegal. I believe that the law states that you must run amber turn signals to alert oncoming traffic of your intentions. I do know that in most states, any alteration of factory lighting could result in a citation. Most officers don't pay attention to the clear lighting, since most of the newer vehicles come factory like that. Alot of people were putting red or blue bulbs in the place of their amber lights and were getting tickets for "alteration of factory lighting".
Cool idea though, but, I'd be pissed if you rolled up on me with all 4 lights blazing!
December 28, 2006Yah that was the plan (4 headlights) But the bottom two where the bumber lights normally are, were gonna consist of 2 high beam lights in each housing. I plan on wiring them up to a relay and switch in the cab, including the original lights. So when I flick switch I have all lights ocme on, in total that would be 6 Hi beams and 2 Regulars!!
December 28, 2006Oh yah I forgot, then the blinker I am gonna re-wire to be in the corner lights ( Both lights on both sides) and switch the bulb to red. I dont care about any laws, whatever they are up here anyhow. I dont think anyone will even notice. If they do, Ill burn that bridge when it happens
December 28, 2006Ebay, you can get all 8 lights for under 100 bucks, even projectors if you want. I have halo headlights or whatever they are called and like them, they certainly look different at night.
January 1, 2007you should check out www.ckresto.com they have complete light kits for reasonable prices
January 2, 2007^^^^ Great Website!!
BTW, Welcome to
January 28, 2007got em on ebay, they fit nicely, with shipping and everything it ended up costing about $70 for the headlights and $35 for the markers, i was gonna get the corners too but decided against it, i thought with the dark paint, it might be too much. i also found a set that were clear but they had just the slightest bit of smoke in the lenses so they werent so obnociously clear but they were about $100 more.
