November 15, 2006Ok well I am pretty new to dealing with these model year(s) - 73-87- of Chevy trucks so when I got it, I was not to thrilled with the braking on it. I have 33x12.50 tires on it, so I know that these tires aren't helping either. I replaced the front rotors and pads along with the brake reservoir. It did improve but I'm still not too pleased with the results
So then I started looking into hydro-boost..... so here goes
A - If I get a system off a diesel, is it "completely" adaptable?
B - Do I need the "whole" system, or just the hoses and booster from a diesel?
C - I looked into these aftermarket kits and while it is awesome that you get everything, they are pricey....so that is why I am shying away from these kits.
D - These ^^^ kits mention that they use a 1500 psi power steering pump, are these OEM pumps, or ""souped up" from these companies?
E - Could possibly piece a system together from the auto parts store? Would I just be asking for say "84 Chevy diesel PU? or what other vehicles had hydroboost?
Sorry for ALL the questions, I'm just trying to get as much info as possible, on something that I dont know too much about. Thanks in advance
