May 4, 2006After my truck gets lifted ( been waitin on my toyo mts for over 2 months now) I'm gonna start some paint work.. I debadged her when I first got it so the only thing black on the body is the door handles which are for sure gettin painted white to match.. The truck is a 01 4x4.. I plan on paintin the black plastic on top of the front bumper white, the front valance white, the grille shell white( with a billet grille of coure) and the bowtie white.. My question is, Should I paint the black plastic on the rear bumper white as well? Ive seen many trucks like mine with the front done in white but havent seen the back bumper done?/ I just dont want to do it and have too much white on there.. Any input is appericated..
May 4, 2006i wouldnt. i think its easy to go overboard with painting pieces and it doesnt help that the truck is white. if i were you i would paint everything you said except the lower valence on the front, but thats just me. good luck and post pics!
May 10, 2006There is nothing wrong with painting the front valance if you ask me . I painted mine and I was thinking about painting the part on the bumper but I am going to get a different bumber instead . We painted a lot on ours . Check ours out and you will see some of the things painted . We are getting ready to get rid of our Chromed Phantom Grille and get another Phantom but painted white . Let us know what you decide to do .
May 10, 2006I think it would be great if you did it all. From the grille to front upper and lower bumper peices to the plastic on the rear paint it all.
May 11, 2006I saw the rear bumper plasti painted white on a truck and it just looked WAY overdone, and the white didnt look very great, i like all your idea just leave your rear bumper stock, or get a rear roll pan or maybe pant the chrome part but not the black.
May 11, 2006I've seen it done on a couple trucks here in the dfw area and it looks good, if you paint everything else white and the only thing black is gonna be your rear bumper that would look funny IMO.
