February 26, 2005I have a 2000 2wd silverado. I want to raise the front to sit level with the back. What is the "best" way to do this?

February 26, 2005There is only a couple ways to do this. You can put a three inch spindle lift(I have this) and then put whatever size blocks in the rear to make it level. I don't like the level look so i have 2 inch blocks in the rear.
Your next choice is daystar coil spring spacers. You will only get about 1 to 2 inches of lift on the front and a rougher ride.
Or you can lower the rear end to level your truck, by using 2 inch lowering shackles.
I would suggest the lift.
February 26, 2005i agree, the best way is a "good" set of spindles (fabtech). i have spacers for my truck but haven't installed them yet so i couldn't tell you if they're good or not.
February 26, 2005are you talking about something like http://www.proficientperformance.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=FT-724001&Category_Code=ft_gm_c1500-3-spindle_2wd&Store_Code=PP
Do the 2 inch blocks make the back higher then the front?
March 6, 2005Which spindle should I get to level my truck?
March 6, 2005They are correct the coil spacers will produce a stiffer ride I did that to mine. If you have the time and cash go with the spindles.
March 15, 2005Will these work?
March 15, 2005my ride is no stiffer than it was before and i have the spring spacers, the daystar spacers go on top of the coil not in between the coils.
March 15, 2005JamesTX10,
I've raised two trucks with aluminum spacers under the coils and never noticed a stiffer ride. The spring rate isn't changed, only the distance from the pad to the A arm.
March 15, 2005how much would the fabtech 3" spindle lift set cost + install? One of my friends said around 800-1k for a 2wd?...i just want to level my truck but if im going to spend 1k might as well put go a little further and get the 6" sus lift heh
March 23, 2005I ended up ordering the 3 inch lift from Rough Country today. http://rough.roughcountry.com/RC%20Web/99-04Chevy2wd.htm
I have a buddy that works for Chevy that said that he would install it for me for $150.
I will get some pictures up after it comes in and he gets time to install it for me.
