March 7, 2011I`ve been driving GM vehicles all my life. I was a mechanic for a long time and worked on a lot less GM cars, light trucks and heavy-duty trucks than any others.
Whenever I got bored, I`d buy a Mopar product, which always meant I had something to do just about every weekend!!
March 7, 2011Because I have never had to perform anything but basic maintenance on my trucks is why I drive GM. I hear nothing but horror stories about Dodge`s transmissions. I would drive a Ford if you gave me one, but they don`t back them for 100,000 miles. The only reason Ford is the number one selling truck is because they are CHEAPER then the other guys.
March 7, 2011Dependability and styling. I have always prefered the look of Chevy trucks over any other brand. I have seen some nice looking Fords and Dodges but all had been customized in some way. Also interchangable parts making it easier to locate them and lower prices because of the abundance, especially in the older models.
March 7, 2011Are there other trucks ? I was raised around fords and dodges with my parents, I had an uncle who drove nothing but GM products, I loved the body lines aand he taught me alot about all of them. Now 43 yrs. old I have owned 90% GM vehicles. I`ve had a few fords and dodges but always loved the Chevys, so much I have a Bowtie tattoo on my arm. I will never drive another brand. Maintenance is easy, parts are always available, and interchangable. And as far as the foreign vehicles, you will absolutely never see one in my driveway.
March 7, 20111. like said above, interchangeable parts! you can do a lot of stuff to your truck with parts from another truck, in my case im hoping to beef up and swap and engine from an escalade or ss.
2. they look BAD ASS
3. my "little" 4.8 with a wheatley tune, exhaust, and intake will burn most 5.9 dodges and most 5.4 fords. excuse me, i mean all dodges and fords with comprable mods
4. most dependable trucks ever
5. easiest to work on
March 7, 2011well i have to admit i grew up a die hard ford guy up until the past couple years i have been brought over to the good side. the first truck i drove was a s10 then moved up to a 78 scottsdale and now my 97 and the one ford i did drive never impressed me. also like stated before they are easier to work on and they take alot of abuse and keep on going
March 7, 2011***Matsktr, My 01 silverado that I drive everyday has the 4.8 in it with a hypertech progammer installed, exhaust, and cold air intake all installed for mpg`s not so much performance but it will eat most Hemi`s. I have a friend with the new dodge Hemi and when we go somewhere together (following one another) I usually prove it to him. Not bad considering I have 135,000 on mine and he has 21,000 on his.
***Black 97, welcome to the good side. Chevy is the most reliable, dependable trucks (and cars) on the road. and highest resale value too.
They`re just bad A trucks.
March 7, 2011Literally everything except 4X4 Ifs. Not a big fan of that
March 7, 2011I`m just repeating what others have said but I also like how easy it is to work on these things and how long they last. When I was 11 I started helping my grandpa in his garage and his C10 was always my favorite.
March 8, 2011i have always like chevy. mine truck now is 11 years old, and i have a friend that has a ford a few years old. he help me move once and had to drive my truck for four hours hwy miles. this was a few years back. to this day he still talks about how much he love my truck. he told his older brother about it and his brother went and bought one. pissed him off good. chevy it is what it is.
